We are looking for engaging and experienced teachers to enhance the learning and development of the children in our facility. Our teachers make learning fun and engaging while maintaining safety and providing nurturing care.

Your responsibilities will include the following, as well as any other tasks or duties assigned by school leadership on a daily basis;

  • Implement a classroom schedule during before and after school care, school closures and breaks that adheres to all licensing requirements using provided curriculum and using emergent learning
  • Provide exemplary love and support for children in your care and create a safe environment
  • Observe and assess children to better understand and meet children’s developmental needs
  • Provide consistent communication with families using our Procare Parent Engagement App (sending/responding to parent messages, posting pictures highlighting their child's daily activities, daily reports, meals, etc.)
  • Collaborate and communicate with staff throughout the center in a respectful manner
  • Ensure the classroom is up to our quality standard of care and guidelines provided by Early Achievers and the Washington State Administrative Code, strive for quality improvement and implement adjustments based on constructive feedback from leadership and QRIS coaches
  • Drive 10 passenger van to drop and pick up children from local elementary schools during the school year and field trips during summer break
  • Follow curriculum and activity plans provided during summer break
  • Maintain active supervision and consistent safety monitoring during field trips to ensure all students are accounted for throughout off-site trips
  • Attend monthly staff meetings after closing (6:30pm - 7:30pm, dinner provided)

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of prior experience as a Lead teacher in ECE
  • 5-year clear driving record - willing to sign Release of Interest form for driving records to be reviewed by school leadership
  • An understanding of child development, executive functioning and strategies for learning
  • Patience, flexibility, and compassion for children
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must obtain first-aid certification, hands-on CPR certification, blood borne pathogens training, food handlers permit, and TB skin test
  • Must hold a valid Portable Background Check (PBC) through MERIT registry
  • Must have valid High School Diploma or GED
  • Must provide proof of MMR vaccination or antibodies
  • If you do not currently meet DCYF Educational Requirements - willingness to complete Initial (assistant teachers) and/or Short (lead teachers) Stackable Certificates in Early Childhood Education within 5 years of hire

Strongly Preferred

- 45 credits in early childhood education

-Prior experience with increasing responsibilities in licensed childcare center

Pay: $20.00 - $23.50 per hour
